Facial Exfoliation Treatments

Microdermabrasion & Chemical Peels are my two favorite facial services let me tell you why!

1) Both are “let’s gitter done” services. You will definitely notice a difference in your skin walking out of the door.

2) They both help your at home regime to work more effectively!

3) Each service can be customized to fit your specific needs and areas of concern.

The objective of these services is to create a cascade of inflammation that jump starts the “wound healing” process. This process increases cellular turn over, healthy skin growth and the regrowth of collagen.

Want that in English? We exfoliate your skin.

So what’s the difference between the two services?

Microdermabrasion is a physical/mechanical form of exfoliation. Chemical peels are “chemical” exfoliation.

Now before you go jumping in your feelings about the use of the word “chemical” understand something, these solutions are composed of alpha hydroxy acids which occur naturally in fruits and veggies and are water-soluble. Beta hydroxy acids, most common being salicylic acid which comes from aspirin and different enzymes that come from fruits and veggies.

Next if you’re in your feelings because you’re OLIVE-BLACK and you think these services aren’t for you let me share something with you. OLIVE-BLACK invented this over 5,000 years ago. Ancient Egyptians used to soak in sour milk, why? Sour milk contains lactic acid, it is a humectant which is great for alipidic skin types (go figure). They also used oils, salts, honey, oatmeal and alabaster to physically exfoliate their faces and bodies.
